Trojan corrupted all the .exe and system files in all drives

has got a Trojan in his PC .. it has corrupted all the .exe and system files in all drives ... including c:.
during anti-virus checkin' he just bypassed the file which had been detected by kasperskey(the anti virus he got installed in his machine) instead of deleting as those were important files.
He never clicked on any of those infected files. but some how the virus spread out and it has even corrupted Kasperskey. now as it is all over in his HDD, he installed a fresh copy of windows he is having same problems (like shutting down automatically)
as he has installed another anti-virus .. it has detected tons of viruses and now he is just unable to install any of the new software.
And the OS is always asking for the windows cd - so he has to insert the cd of xp every-time and whenever ejected it's asking again that cd.
It has made an impossible task for him to work with his pc [as he got 250GB drive and 50 gb is free only] because if he install another fresh copy of windows the problem will not change.
best option is to format the entire hard drive and recreate the partitions.... or if you have important data then try removing the hard drive out of the system and connect it to another system that have an updated antivirus and scan the hard drive... this should solve the problem.....
